Our Competition!

Our two main magazine competitors are Empire and Total Film magazine.
Empire is a monthly magazine for all film and cinema fanatics. The magazine consists of reviews, picures, information on the latest films/ new releases, and interviews as well as competitions. Empire's target audience seem to be an older generation, and their language isn't as simple or colloquial as Total Film. Total Film is very simpler to Empire but it concentrates more on movies and films , as they have a lot of 'top 10 movies' and countdowns. We think their audience are more youthful as the film they mention or review are aimed at young adults, and are mostly action adventure or comedic.

Cinemag aims to promote the magazine at young men aged 16 - 19, a similar age group to Total film. We also intend to use colloquial language. Our magazine will have reviews,competitions,images,and an opportunity for our readers to write in to us and tell us what they think.It is a monthly magazine. There will be three different editions for the magazine, and each edition will include different information as well as front covers but would go within' the same line. The name we have chosen for the magazine is ' Cinemag'.
We have decided to create three types of magazine's where as one is a Bollywood magazine based on bollwood films, the other is to do with Trainspotting and the third is on the Italian Mafia . each magazine will include the same title and headings but different colours to suit the magazine theme.

The beginning of a new magazine

So far, we are in the first few stages of creating a new magazine.
The name has been pondered on, we are just about on an agreement about the content and we have some ideas on what images we can use.
Our main rivals are Total Film and Empire magazine, known by mass numbers of people and loved for their exclusives and reviews.
However, our magazine is going to be better, an easy read, good images, different opinions.
It may only be the start of our magazine now, but when we have finished - we will know the blood, sweat and tears was worth it.
