Our two main magazine competitors are Empire and Total Film magazine.
Empire is a monthly magazine for all film and cinema fanatics. The magazine consists of reviews, picures, information on the latest films/ new releases, and interviews as well as competitions. Empire's target audience seem to be an older generation, and their language isn't as simple or colloquial as Total Film. Total Film is very simpler to Empire but it concentrates more on movies and films , as they have a lot of 'top 10 movies' and countdowns. We think their audience are more youthful as the film they mention or review are aimed at young adults, and are mostly action adventure or comedic.
Cinemag aims to promote the magazine at young men aged 16 - 19, a similar age group to Total film. We also intend to use colloquial language. Our magazine will have reviews,competitions,images,and an opportunity for our readers to write in to us and tell us what they think.It is a monthly magazine.
